“ Charbroiled Sampler is the way to go if you want fresh salmon, shrimp AND prawns! Tasty combination and always grilled to perfection. My family and I have been coming for years and always have a wonderful experience. They also offer greens in place of rice or French fries, this option makes for a perfect light lunch or dinner. The outside of the building may be a bit intimidating, but it's truly a hidden gem! Oh, and they don't write down any of the orders....and have never gotten an order wrong, no matter how many people we come with! ”
“ If you're a seafood lover and find yourself in LA, this spot is an absolute must! It's a casual, no-frills gem where you can enjoy mouthwatering seafood on outdoor picnic tables. Sure, the area across the street has a few challenges with homelessness, but it's nothing that's ever made us feel unsafe--just be mindful and lock your car. Now, the FOOD. Incredible doesn't even cover it. Every time we're in town, I make it a priority to stop here. This time, I was so excited to dive in, I didn't even think to snap photos! We ordered the fried shrimp (so crispy!), grilled scallops, grilled shrimp, and grilled fish, and everything was cooked to perfection. Their tartar and garlic sauces? Out of this world--don't skip them! It's laid-back, delicious, and the kind of place that makes you want to come back for more. Highly recommend this hidden treasure! ”
“ A childhood favorite of mine since the 80's, the Fisherman's Outlet is actually a place that has gotten even better in value in my opinion. My regular #2 combo plate appears bigger and heavier than I remember it and the freshness of seafood has always been stellar ”
“ The line only took about 15 minutes, but the food was ready in 2 ! A classic LA landmark, serving freshly cooked seafood - fried or charbroiled. WARNING: about the surrounding neighborhood - definitely make sure you're driving. I would not recommend walking the city blocks nearby. ”
“ Food potion is good, got three large fish pieces and about 8 medium sized shrimps for the Fish and Shrimp Combo. Breading is nice an crispy, fries are average. Lobster Bisque is nice, smooth and not too salty. Large outside and covered seating area, and plenty and parking. Staffs are pretty efficient in taking orders and bringing out food ”
“ As always the seafood here is outstanding. Had the scallops and clam chowder. The chowder was very good as usual. It was creamy and seasoned well. The scallops were fresh and filling. This is a walk up and order place but the servers at the front desk were very good. When you get there get in line immediately to order because if you wait 10 people will walk up behind you and get in line before you. Ambiance isn't much, just tables and chairs but that's what brings me back to this place. The simplicity. ”
“ What I Ordered: -Fisherman's Combos: 1. Fish and Shrimp Combo with French Fries and Coleslaw $21.45 -New England White Clam Chowder (Large) $9.25 Serving Fresh Seafood in LA since 1961. They have over a dozen different kinds of fresh fish items on the menu. They are known for the Fried Fish and Shrimp Combo with French Fries and Coleslaw, Charbroiled Giant Shrimp with Garlic Butter Sauce, Chowders: New England Clam Chowder (White), Fisherman's Seafood Chowder (Red), Lobster Bisque. I opted to get the Fried Fish and Shrimp Combo with French Fries and Coleslaw. It came with two pre-sealed sauces which included Cocktail Sauce and Tartar Sauce. It was okay. I like fried fish, but the batter is too heavy. It took away from the natural flavor of the fish and the shrimp. I wouldn't recommend the Fried Fish and Shrimp Combo. I wasn't a fan of the fries. I noticed many people ordered the rice instead of the French Fries. That seemed like a healthier option and the pro move. The coleslaw was pretty good. I liked it! I think I made a rookie mistake here and ordered the fried option instead of the charbroiled option. I really didn't enjoy the Fried Fish and Shrimp Combo as much as I thought I would have. I wasn't a fan of the breading of fried fish and shrimp. Despite the price, you get a healthy portion size of seafood. The highlight of meal was the New England Clam Chowder (White). It came with oyster crackers and packets of tabasco sauce. I would have liked some packets of pepper to go with the soup. As a native New Englander, I'm a huge fan clam chowder. This particular version of Clam Chowder came out piping hot and it was creamy and loaded with fresh clams. The price tag can seem like much consider the size of the large soup, but when you factor in the vast amount of clams. You know you are getting a high quality product. I highly recommend the New England Clam Chowder (White). Next time, I come I want to try the Charbroiled Shrimp with Garlic Butter and the Lobster Bisque. You place your order at the counter. The staff were very helpful in recommendations for us indecisive folks. The restaurant is not in a good area. Very close to skid row! Very sad to see so many folks living like that all around. You may see some of them loitering around the restaurant. However, I never felt unsafe as they have a security guard present. There's plenty of parking in their parking lot. I'm looking forward to coming back here with my family. ”
“ Ordered the fish & shrimp plate combo + a small cup of clam chowder, was delicious! The tartar sauce it comes with was also excellent and surprisingly the fries were great as well! Overall can't wait to come back - it was a great seafood place for fresh fish and centrally located. ”
